Description
The triangle, or Pembetatu in Swahili, decorates the painted faces of young Maasai boys on their journey into adulthood and features silver charms that hang from beaded adornments worn by Maasai women.
Symbols are a visual representation of philosophy, and the triangle is used to convey balance. We dedicate this collection to the Pembetatu to symbolize our hopes of balancing the preservation of traditional Maasai beadwork with bringing a contemporary aesthetic to our designs.
Handmade by Maasai Women in Arusha, Tanzania, with Glass beads and blocks of 24K gold plated glass beads attached to a 14k gold fill earring post.
